Yeadon, PA September 30, 2016 – In collaboration with managed care agencies since 2007, the Pettaway Pursuit Foundation (PPF) has provided care for over 1,100 expectant and new mothers in select counties in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Their signature program, Doula By My Side, offers non-medical assistance before, during, and after child birth to pre-identified, high-risk members of Keystone First, Health Partners, and Tufts Health Plans. Health Partners recently incorporated the use of “doulas” in our ever evolving Baby Partners program in order to meet the specific needs and improve health outcomes for our members with high-risk pregnancies. These competent caregivers, trained and certified by Doulas of North America (DONA), are provided by Pettaway Pursuit Foundation, an exemplary agency with proven history helping low income high-risk pregnant women in the Philadelphia area. Yeadon, PA May 23, 2018 – After nearly 20 years of servicing both prenatal and postpartum needs of mothers from various backgrounds, Pettaway Pursuit Foundation will be launching its headquarters on May 30, 2018. Operating out of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, the new location looks to serve as a central hub for its surrounding communities as well as its two other branches in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Jill Kasten, a lead doula for the Pettaway Pursuit Foundation in Massachusetts, met with Mrs. Amaro of Oxford and spoke to her by telephone in the weeks leading up to the birth of Isaias. The women talked about breastfeeding and how Mrs. Amaro could “own” her birth experience, the women said.
